Art and Cocktails

A week ago my friend Raffael and I visited Brisbane. Going up to the city is one of our favourite things to do for a day out. We had anticipated this day for a long time as whilst in the uni semester we planned to do it but our busy schedules forbid us to do it until finally.

There were two cocktail bars we were dying to go to, one being a rooftop bar filled with bright vibrant furniture overlooking the city and the other being a dessert cocktail bar.

After arriving in Brisbane food was obviously the first thing on my mind (always hungry!) Had a quick stop at Guzman Y Gomez ( I love the burritos). Then making our way to Cowch (the dessert cocktail bar). Here I got a delicious peanut butter icecream cocktail, It was amazing (slightly overpriced though) but if you are into peanut butter and thickshakes you would love this!

We then made our way to GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art). It was filed with many interesting pieces. I'm a sucker for interactive art though so favourite was Yayoi Kusamas' "The Obliterarion Room".

After looking around the gallery we took a quick trip to Forever 21 (couldn't resist buying a few things either!) We then finally made it to Dandy's Rooftop Bar. It had a great view of the city skyline and the atmosphere was bright, colourful and fun. After enjoying a Pimm's Jug our time was cut short as a big storm came over. Do not recommend Dandy's in a storm but on a sunny day or fine evening it's just lovely.

Overall it was a terrific Day and I can't wait to go back to Brisbane for more explorations.
